Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope everyone is having a fun and enjoyable 4th of July weekend. I thought I would let everyone know some of my viewpoints for the upcoming election on Tuesday, July 26th.

* My top priorities are: public safety, good roads, clean drinking water and no tax increase.
* I like that there are opportunities for people in the community to become members of a commission or committee, to be an advisor to the City Council, etc. This gives them an opportunity to be a part of the cities' decision-making process and gives them a chance to make recommendations. We need to develop more committees and commissions for citizens to serve on.
* We need to attract more businesses into our community to provide more tax base for our city. Also, we should look at development along the riverfront area in the future. I would also support Burnsville working with other neighboring cities to find ways to consolidate services to reduce costs and become more efficient.
* I would support putting a one-year deadline on BPAC to give it a chance to turn it around and break even.
* When elected, I will work to lower the high unemployment rate by bringing in successful new businesses, and increase tourism to our city.

Burnsville Performing Arts Center (BPAC)

I would support setting up a public forum for people in the community to come and discuss their concerns about the future funding and the operations of BPAC.
